What does a Swiss IBAN number look like?

Every bank account in Switzerland is assigned an IBAN. This is a 21-character alphanumeric code that allows the account to be identified by banks in other countries. Is it safe to send money online to Switzerland?

As an Authorised Payment Institution, we’re regulated by the FCA for the provision of payment services. It’s safe, therefore, to make online money transfers to Switzerland with Moneycorp; we’ll flag suspicious transactions in your account, and you can rest assured that your payment details and personal information will be protected.

What is the best way to send money to Switzerland?

Whilst you could simply use your bank to transfer your money to Switzerland, it is worth bearing in mind that traditional banks aren’t always very good at handling international payments; their exchange rate costs are higher than those levied by currency specialists, and they can also charge transfer fees of up to £30 per transaction. Banks tend to take longer to process international transactions too. A better option, therefore, is to use a currency exchange specialist when making international payments. At Moneycorp, we offer competitive exchange rates and fee-free online transfers.
