What information do I need for a bank transfer to Brazil?

You will need to provide the following information when sending money to a Brazilian bank account:

  • The account holder’s full name and address
  • The name of the recipient’s bank
  • The receiving bank’s BIC/SWIFT number
  • The recipient’s International Bank Account Number (IBAN)
  • The recipient’s CPF number (Tax Registration Number)

What does a Brazilian IBAN look like?

Every bank account within Brazil is assigned an IBAN. IBANs enable banks to identify and transfer money to foreign bank accounts. A Brazilian IBAN is a 29-character code that comprises the following:

  • A Country Code (BR)
  • A two-digit check number
  • A Basic Bank Account Number (BBAN). This is made up of:
    • An eight-digit bank code
    • A five-digit branch code
    • A 10-digit bank account number
    • A one-letter code for the account type
    • A one-digit code for the account owner type

Is there a limit on how much money I can send to Brazil?

There is a £100,000 upper limit on personal transfers that can be made through our online platform to Brazil. Transfers made over the phone, on the other hand, have no upper limit, and so you will need to contact your Moneycorp account manager by telephone in order to make larger payments from the UK to Brazil.

Can I send money to all Brazilian banks through my Moneycorp account?

Moneycorp allows you to make payments to most well-known banks in Brazil, including but not limited to the following:

  • Banco do Brasil
  • Caixa Econômica Federal
  • Banco Safra
  • Banco Bradesco
  • Central Bank of Brazil
