Brits choose cultural experiences over boozy breaks.Only a fraction of Brits are looking for love on travels. Sun starved Brits are still flocking to sunnier climes

The image of boozy Brits abroad may become a thing of the past, as a new survey from Moneycorp reveals that more than twice as many of us are looking for culture over cava on holiday.

The YouGov survey of over 2,000 Britons revealed a whopping 60 per cent of Brits are booking holidays to widen their cultural horizons, while only 24 per cent are looking for a boozy break of bars, pubs and clubs. Unsurprisingly however, the main priority is still somewhere sunny and warm at 64 per cent.As sun and sightseeing top the list of holiday desires, romance takes a back seat. According to the survey findings a mere 9 per cent of Brits are looking for love on holiday.

Vanessa Schotes, head of marketing for Travel Money at Moneycorp, comments:

“There are some wonderful cultural destinations around the world, so it’s no surprise that Brits are opting for holidays that broaden their horizons. With the pound currently riding a high against a number of currencies, travellers from the UK are able to pack even more cultural attractions into their itineraries this year.

“Whatever your motivations for this year’s summer break, it’s possible to make your holiday funds go further by being smart with your travel money options. Jet setters with plans to visit multiple destinations should get their hands on a multi-currency explorer card – allowing them to keep different currencies in one place, safely and securely. If you’re after the best rates, think about reserving your holiday money online and collecting it at the airport.”

With the sterling particularly strong this summer, holidaymakers can fit in even more attractions compared to last year. Here we explore worldwide attractions for under £50 and how the deals compare to last year:
