5 top tips for a family trip to Paris

5 top tips for a family trip to Paris

Reserve and collect

Just when you thought summer was over and they were back at school, the little ones are home again for half term. So how can you keep children busy this holiday?

With Disneyland Paris a short Eurostar train ride away, France is a great option. However, there’s more to the French capital than the theme park – here are five activities to get up to in Paris, plus some money saving tips to make sure your purse goes further in Paris.

Cité des Enfants

Keeping children interested and engaged during a museum visit can be tricky, but Cité des Enfants offers the perfect combination of fun and education. As the name suggests, this museum is designed specifically for children and offers multi-lingual exhibits. It is located on the ground floor of the Cite de Sciences, which is perfect if you’ve got a pram. Spend 90 minutes exploring all sorts of scientific things – from senses, water, animals, and ball play to physical movement. One thing is for sure: children definitely won’t get bored here.

The Eiffel Tower

We bet you expected this one – but how can we leave this one off the list? This impressive, massive structure, weighing a hefty 7.3 million kilograms, is definitely worth a visit. Your biggest decision will be whether to take the stairs or the lift to the top. Keep your kids entertained by challenging them with a good old game of ‘I spy with my little eye…’.

Tip: Visit the tower at the end of your trip and your little ones can spot all the different places they have been from the top.

Boat trip on the Seine

Tired of all the walking? Discover Paris on a different level and hop on the river boat. This is a great way to get around Paris while (little) legs take a rest.  Vedettes du Pont Neuf offer great value tickets.

Centre Pompidou

The inside and outside of Centre Pompidou are both really interesting. The exterior of the building is covered in colour coded pipes and staircases. The gallery offers a wide variety of activities, focused on different age groups, making sure there is something fun for everyone.

Parc Zoologique

Visiting the zoo during your visit is a refreshing break from the bustle of the city. After a couple of years of renovation work, the Parc Zoologique is open to the public again with a lot more to offer than before.

Tip: Order your tickets in advance to get 12% off your tickets.
