What is an IBAN code?
An IBAN, or International Bank Account Number, is an alphanumeric code that identifies the location, bank and bank account of international bank accounts. If you wish to send money to a German bank account, you will first need to ask the recipient for their IBAN. IBANs are printed on bank statements, together with the account number and sort code.
What does an IBAN code look like in Germany?
IBANs are 22 digits in length in Germany, and are made up of the country code, two check digits and a Basic Bank Account Number (BBAN). The BBAN comprises an eight-digit Bank Sort Code, or Bankleitzahl (BLZ) code, and a 10-digit Bank Account Number:

Is there a limit on how much money I can send to Germany?
With regard to personal transfers, there is an upper limit of £100,000 on the payments that can be made through our online platform to Germany. There is no upper limit on transfers made over the phone, on the other hand, and so you will need to contact your Moneycorp account manager by telephone to make larger payments from the UK to Germany.
