Here at moneycorp, we believe it is essential to support the wellbeing and mental health of our employees. Despite being a fundamental part of our individual lifestyles and able to impact everyday life, mental health is still often overlooked in society. This is why we believe it is crucial to support and educate our employees on how to develop and hold a deeper understanding of the matter.
With more in-depth research on mental health available these days, many now understand that certain lifestyle changes can help us build a resilient body and mind. To help educate our employees, we recently teamed up with Luminate for a day of wellbeing sessions and workshops. Our employees were offered the opportunity to participate in any of the below sessions:
This session included understanding the factors that affect our mental health and introduced some simple strategies that can help us to look after our wellbeing more effectively. Secondly, it educated our staff in identifying the signs and symptoms of poor mental health in both themselves and others.
As many are still not aware that mental and physical health are intrinsically linked, this session aimed to educate our employees in some healthy habits that are more likely to contribute to positive wellbeing. Eating well, enjoying enough sleep and exercising regularly are all ingredients that will allow us to thrive and flourish in our everyday environment.
This workshop also taught us to address why we struggle to follow a healthy diet, sufficient levels of movement and good sleep pattern, and how redesigning old habits can have profound effect on our health.
With more information, possessions, technology and abilities to communicate to everyone, happiness seems to elude many people.
This session opened our eyes to all the opportunities we have in today’s world and the role they can play in determining our happiness. It looked at how we can change this and bring more happiness into our lives by increasing motivation, so we can thrive both in work and beyond.
The sheer number of distractions in the modern world can make it hard to focus on ourselves and our wellbeing. That’s why this workshop looked at helping our employees to manage their time effectively in order to reduce stress and feelings of being overwhelmed.
Head of HR at moneycorp, Julie Kellet said: “We are very proud to have run our first wellbeing taster for moneycorp, and hope to continue with a wider wellbeing strategy for the whole business worldwide. Colleagues gave us some great feedback on the sessions, which included mental and physical health, and the positivity the day instilled in the business has carried on since.”
With a great turnout for all events, we are glad our employees enjoyed and participated in all activities that were available. In the future, we are looking forward to building our relationship with Luminate and educating our staff on the effect of mental and physical health, as it is essential for the growth and success of our business.
