What information do I need to transfer money to a Jordanian bank account?

You’ll need to provide the following information to send a money transfer to Jordan, in addition to documentation that provides evidence for your reasons for making a payment:

  • The recipient’s full name and address
  • The recipient’s account number
  • The recipient’s IBAN or BIC/SWIFT code
  • If you are making a personal payment: Photographic ID of the recipient and a copy of the recipient’s bank statement that is less than three months old, with proof of address
  • If you are transferring funds into your own Jordanian account: A bank statement from the recipient account that is less than three months old
  • If you are making a business payment: An invoice with the supplier’s name and address

What does a Jordanian IBAN look like?

Every Jordanian bank account is assigned an International Bank Account Number (IBAN). This is an alphanumeric code that is used to facilitate international payments. IBANs in Jordan are 30 characters long and consist of an ISO Country Code, two check digits and a Basic Bank Account Number (BBAN).
