What is a bank account number in NZ?

Bank account numbers in New Zealand are either 15 or 16 digits long, and they are broken up into four sections:

  • The first two digits are the bank number
  • The second, four-digit, block represents the bank branch number
  • The third block is a seven-digit account number
  • The final block is either two or three digits; it represents the type of bank account (business, savings, checking, etc.)

Is there a limit on how much money I can send to New Zealand?

There is an upper limit of £100,000 on personal transfers that can be made through our online platform to New Zealand. Transfers made over the phone, on the other hand, have no upper limit, and so you will need to contact your Moneycorp account manager by telephone if you wish to make larger payments from the UK to New Zealand.
