International Women’s Day: Highlighting the voices of women at moneycorp

#ChooseToChallenge

4 minute read

Did you know women make up almost half of the moneycorp workforce? Unlike many other companies within the fintech industry, moneycorp thrives on a commitment to gender inclusivity. We hope to create an environment that encourages discussions from different viewpoints and gets women interested in finance. We hope to set an example for other companies within the Fintech space of the impact inclusion can have not only internally but externally as well.

Throughout the years, women have made significant strides in the workplace and in recent years have found their voice. At moneycorp, we are proud to uphold those voices in an effort to be part of something greater. We #ChooseToChallenge bias, celebrate women's achievements and support gender equality. This year, on International Women’s Day, we would like to highlight just some of the inspirational women who play a pivotal role in Moneycorp every day.

In the words of Kirsty Garner, Director of UK IP Marketing:

“Choose to challenge yourself to not let imposter syndrome take over. You are good enough, it’s your challenge to actually believe it”

“I am very proud to be a part of the North America leadership team here at Moneycorp. I feel supported and empowered to drive my payment solution team forward. Reinforcing a lead by example model with the right behaviors and approach is fully endorsed in our collective management style.”

Colette Miller, Director, Payments Solutions

“Having the opportunity to be a leader in today’s society means so much. Not only are we breaking barriers for the women of our generation, but also, for generations to come as young girls look to us as an example of what their future could look like.”

Monica Bermudez, Marketing Communications Manager

“I love being a part of a diverse team that brings together every aspect of the Moneycorp business. We share knowledge, best practices and also help each other to deliver solutions to provide excellent customer service. As a woman in a leadership role, my voice is equal to that of my male counterparts.”

Sharna Gayle, Director of Operations and Banking Relationships

“As children, we’re told honesty is the best policy. As a leader, being honest with your team and not being afraid to admit when you’ve made a mistake builds trust and appreciation from your peers among other personal character-building traits for yourself. On the flip side, we hear as parents lead by example. In leadership, this is no different. Demonstrate good behavior at home and at work and others will do the same. Being in a leadership role at moneycorp allows me to constantly practice these life-long lessons. Be honest and lead by example. Oh yeah, and have a little fun while you’re at it.”

Kelly Cutchin, Country Manager USA

“Seeing successful women, such as Whitney Wolfe Herd launch Bumble’s IPO last month, with her baby in hand was incredibly inspirational and stood out because of how different it was to watch. Being a female leader is all about giving other women the space and opportunity to grow. I’ve heard the phrase ‘Surround yourself with women who would mention your name in a room full of opportunities’, and I really try and follow that mantra myself.”

Larissa Hirst, Head of Established Marketing and Communications
